Our Journey

Mpho Ya Rona was established on 1 August 2022 and is dedicated to empowering children and families within the community through quality education, spiritual growth, and nutritional support, with the aim of fostering a brighter future.
The centre initially began with a crèche, feeding programme, and madrassah. Alhamdulillah, the project has grown steadily and has since expanded to include additional educational and empowerment initiatives, as outlined below.

Crèche Programme
The crèche programme provides quality early childhood education and care to children in the community. The programme began with 20 learners and has grown to 55 learners, focusing on cognitive, emotional, and physical development.

The vision of the crèche is to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children can grow, thrive, and develop a strong foundation for their future learning.

In 2026, the centre will implement a new teaching programme known as Smart Start, which emphasises interactive learning and play-based education. In addition, the centre will strengthen parent–teacher partnerships, ensuring that parents are actively involved in their children’s education and are equipped to support learning at home. The goal is to create a seamless learning experience where parents and educators work collaboratively to foster a love for learning and exploration.

Madrassah Programme
The madrassah programme offers Islamic education and spiritual guidance, helping children develop a strong foundation in their faith. The vision of the madrassah is to instil Islamic values, principles, and compassion, nurturing well-rounded and responsible individuals. In 2026, the madrassah will introduce practical skills workshops for learners, including:
• Gardening and environmental stewardship
• Sewing
• Creative arts

These skills will support the development of creativity, fine motor skills, independence, and a strong sense of community and teamwork.

Online Classes
The centre offers online English and Mathematics classes, providing learners with additional educational resources and learning opportunities. The vision of the online programme is to increase access to quality education and empower learners to become more proficient in these key subjects, thereby building a strong foundation for future academic success.

Empowerment Projects
Current empowerment initiatives include:
• Ice making
• Sewing
• Grass cutting
• Baking
• Gardening

Future Activities

- Community engagement: Partnering with local organisations, schools, and community groups to raise awareness
- Volunteer recruitment: Inviting skilled volunteers to mentor participants and support project growth
- Skills training: Offering structured training and workshops to equip participants with in-demand skills
- Employment expansion: Creating and expanding job opportunities within the community
- Establish Hifz Classes for the local community leaners.
