Our Journey
Khumo Ya Lerato was established after The Garden Social Services was alerted to the severe food insecurity affecting children in the informal settlement. A feeding scheme was initiated, providing meals to approximately 400 children daily.
In June 2025, the need for an educare centre was identified to benefit local children. With the support of a generous donor, three classrooms and ablution facilities were constructed, with the intention of launching the educare centre in January 2026. The centre is managed by community volunteers.
